Summer Read

Summer read sign up forms are available in the library. We are opening summer read for kids who will be entering grades K-5 in the fall. Summer read starts on July 1st, so be sure you sign up! Below is a schedule of our summer read events, each on a Tuesday evening at 6PM in the library. See you there!

July 1 – Informational meeting to get you started on your summer of reading. You can still sign up at this meeting.

July 8 – Cathy McGrath performs “Singing Bees and Jumping Beings” featuring singing games. Cathy uses the guitar, autoharp, lumberjacks, flute and penny whistle to entertain her audience.

July 15 – Terri Roben’s program“Insects are Incredibly Interesting” teaches about insects and bugs using music and song. Find out what cool things insects can do and enjoy Terri’s puppets and songs!

July 22 – John Crocitto, owner of CroZoo will treat us to “Creepy and Freaky Friends” John will bring centipedes, millipedes, scorpions, snails, spiders, and more for all to see! John will also be teaching us about the insects he beings and their environments.

July 29 – Nancy Nivison will perform a puppet show titled “Freddy and Friends present songs and stories” featuring Lizzie the bossy ladybug, Archie the acrobatic arachnid, Matilda the monarch butterfly, Froggy and Mouse’s wedding. This program is sure to entertain all!

August 5 - Blair Frodelius will treat us to “Catch the Reading Bug: The Jitterbugs” featuring songs about insects, bugs and other crawly things. There will be lots of music, songs and interesting bug fats!

Newsletter

We have a new issue of our newsletter out. It is available at the circ desk, so be sure you get one when you check out your materials so you are up to date on your library's comings and goings!

Poetry Contest

Come on in to vote for the poetry contest! We're keeping the voting open until June 14th, and will announce the winners shortly thereafter. If you miss your chance to vote, you will still be able to read the submitted poems for a while longer in the library, but please do vote. We have some excellent poems this year!
